Whirlpool WCGK5036PS cutout dimensions (36-inch gas cooktop)

The owner's manual that Whirlpool links from the WCGK5036PS product page gives 36-inch models a countertop cutout 34 5/16 in wide and 19 1/2 in deep. Whirlpool lists the cooktop itself at 5.5625 in high, 36 in wide and 21 in deep.

Verify with the maker's installation instructions before you cut or buy. This page lists fit dimensions only. It is not installation guidance.

Source: W11613935D (PDF), page 6. The manual names these by letter. We read I as the width and F as the depth from where they sit in its drawing. The manual also says: “Cabinet opening dimensions that are shown must be used. Given dimensions are minimum clearances.”

Which documents we used

The owner's manual does not list model numbers. We use it because the WCGK5036PS product page links it, and the dimension guide on the same page (W11671280D, for the WCGK5036P, WCGK7036P and WCGK7536P) says to refer to the owner's manual before making cutouts. That dimension guide is for planning only, so we do not take the cutout from it.

Whirlpool's older gas cooktop instructions W11116971C have an “All Other 36" Models” row, but the model list in that document does not name the WCGK5036PS, so we do not use it here.
